Obituary for Eileen P Corcoran

Eileen P. Corcoran, 56, of Leonardo, passed away on Monday, July 29th, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Keansburg, lived most of her life in Seattle, Washington, prior to moving to Leonardo two years ago. Eileen was in the US Army, she worked as a harm reductionist for the VNA of Asbury Park; she also worked on fishing boats. Eileen is what a true warrior is and what heroes are made of. She touched the lives of many and will continue to do so. Eileen truly made the world a better place- with her selfless acts, strong voice, and her force to be reckoned with. Her legacy will live on in many. From graduating with her master's, counseling, outreach or starting her own organization she was a VERY compassionate WOMAN who could relate to anyone and was jack of all trades. Her energy will spread like a wildfire. She modeled what compassion, dignity, loyalty and love for others. With obstacles of her own she shattered every stereotype out there-her life-long goal to prove EVERYONE WRONG! The best story teller there was and now her story lives on.......Eileen is pre-deceased by her brother; John Murray Jr.; She is survived by her parents; John and Mary Murray Sr. of Keansburg; her husband; Robert Corcoran of Seattle; three daughters and a son in-law; Colleen and Mat Foley of Leonardo, Kylee and Kaitlin Corcoran of Keansburg; her brother and two sisters in-law; Andrew and Kim Murray of Keansburg and Ellen Murray of Keansburg; two sisters and brothers in-law; Kathy and Bruce Taylor of Linden and Mary and Casey Wojtaszek of Middletown; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 2-6 pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hazlet’s Hope Network, PO Box 84 Hazlet, NJ 07730 or call 732-832-7660

To the family of Miss Eileen. I have never met a more passionate soul than this beautiful woman. I remember the first night I met her in grad school I was immediately drawn to her energy. I watched her work harder and smash more obstacles than anyone I’ve ever met. We shared some similarities in our stories and I will NEVER forget her bravery. I love you Eileen!!

I would have to write a book to tell you about my friend Eileen and it would be never ending because she would just do something else to add to it. I've only know her for a little over four years and she has taught me so much in that short time. She will be missed by many especially the people who needed her most the underdog and the less unfortunate struggling to find their way in life. I have never met someone with her love, loyalty, drive, stamina and determination. Keansburg and Monmouth county are losing one of the greatest assets they ever had and I hope they realize that and go on to do the work she started. Give hugs and kisses to all of our loved ones and tell them we will all be reunited again. Love and friendship Your Harm Reduction Sister Lori
